TRACE TowBots offers a precision, ruggedly built towing machine that will allow the user to position aircraft in close quarters with ease. The iTowBot has the ability to rotate the aircraft inside of its own wingspan. With its hybrid zero-turn capability and fully-articulating self-locking carriage, turn limits of the aircraft nose wheel cannot be exceeded. The powerful 24VDC motors are regulated for smooth starts and stops while delivering the power you need to put your aircraft asset out on the ramp or back in the hangar. Standard TowBots are capable of moving 15,000lb aircraft. The Heavy Duty iTowBot models offer 36 volt capability to handle aircraft up to 30,000lbs. |
The iTowbot®
The iTowbot brings out the best in aircraft towing solutions. Our patented technology has eliminated lifting, positioning, electrical cords, fueling or hard starting of traditional aircraft towing machinery. This unit was designed with the aircraft and the aircraft owner in mind. The iTowbot enhances the owner's ability to observe and control the aircraft during towing by observing the process from a vantage point. No more having to be at the front of the aircraft with limited visibility of those wingtips or empanage. You can be at the back of the hangar or next to that other aircraft in close proximity to your parking place. TowBots are available in multiple configurations to move most any aircraft. From 15,000 lbs.(standard) to 30,000lbs. (Heavy Duty).

Now Towing Wheel-Pant Aircraft! Trace TowBots has recently enhanced the iTowBot to handle aircraft with wheel pants. The iTowBot has been retrofitted with an electrically-actuated mechanism to grip the nose wheel and lift it from the hangar floor. It's perfect for fixed gear aircraft. No more damage to wheel pants while attempting to attach towbars to the landing gear. Simply drive up to the nose wheel, clamp, lift and go. No need to manually exert yourself while trying to position your aircraft in tight spaces. Position your aircraft from a vantage point. Ideal for all Cirrus, Cessna and Piper models. The iTowBot will tow those larger helicopters equipped with single or dual nose wheels. Simply disengage the steering pin, load and go. Great for placing that helicopter in the hangar with precision. Solves many of the problems with conventional towing.

The iTowbot incorporates heavy-duty mounted bearings along with Moldon rubber wheels for a smooth positive grip during the loading and towing process. Heavy wall steel frame and low center of gravity aid in stability. Protection is programmed in the motor control to protect from false commands, signal interruption or thermal overheat. An integrated battery charger/tender assures your iTowbot will be ready for duty when you are.
